About Anna

Anna Donkin is a registered nutritional therapist specialising in the Women’s Health sector. She believes in a holistic approach to optimising health through nutrition, and that well-being comes centrally from a balanced approach to diet, lifestyle, movement, supplementation and mindset.

After a career in the ballet and dance world and a grounding in Pilates training, she became passionate about the function and physiology of the body. Anna studied for a 5 year BSC degree in Nutritional Therapy and continues to be inspired to help her clients achieve their goals, optimise their health and improve the condition of their bodies.

Having worked initially as a nutrition and health coach with clients in Cape Town in 2012, and then later, whilst living in Europe with clients in Berlin Germany, she furthered her education in Nutritional Therapy through the University of West London, now registered with the British Association of Nutritional Therapy (BANT).

Now in her mid 30’s and mom of 3, Anna understands the value of having a framework for nutrition and movement that works for the individual. ‘I want my clients to finally find freedom in a plan of action that really serves them and works for them. So that they can release the energy they would have spent worrying about what they should or shouldn’t do for their bodies and their health, and focus that energy on the things that really matter to them in their lives.’

Anna, has, since Covid, transitioned to online practice, optimising the flexibility that online consultations offer both herself and her clients, being able to work from anywhere in the world.

Her philosophy and approach remain grounded under the Functional Medicine umbrella, where the focus is working closely with each client's individual needs, based on an in-depth analysis of their health & personal history, family medical history and lifestyle factors. She believes that the relief and improvement of symptoms, whether it be weight gain, thyroid dysfunction, fatigue, skin issues or hormonal imbalance, lies in uncovering the root cause, establishing connections between biochemical imbalances and strategising around effective behaviour change, understanding the emotional motivation behind client choices.

Whether her client wants to improve their general health and energy levels, achieve a specific goal such as weight loss or hormonal balance, walk through a balanced and healthy pregnancy or optimise their training, Anna believes that establishing a balanced nutrient profile through diet and nutrition strategies, implementing appropriate supplementation where necessary, introducing targeted movement and training, and stress management, are key factors to achieving a healthy and happy body.
